Ahhh, Opening Day.

I don’t mean last week in Japan. Or last night in Miami. I mean today. The real Opening Day.

I can’t talk about what it’s like to be a fan of any other team on Opening Day. I can only tell you about being a Cubs fan. And being a Cubs fan, Opening Day reminds you of those friends and family who never got to see their team win it all. And really, the patron saint of the faithful and departed is Steve Goodman.

And so for Steve, Uncle Sal, and all those whose names are spoken silently whenever you go through the turnstiles. Happy Opening Day.
